All about Us

The Smethport Area Piecemakers' Quilt Guild was formed in 2004 when Sandy Nick brought her dream to reality, to start a group where quilters meet to share ideas, learn together, and support our communities.

The guild  meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Hamlin Library in Smethport, Pa. at 7 pm.  We also meet the 2nd and 4th Monday during the day to sew, also at the library.

Our community work includes quilts of the children and Youth, a yearly donation quilt to the library, Bradford, Pa. Hospital oncology, Alzheimer Research Quilts, the Port Allegany Angel Tree, Hurricane Katrina quilts, and most importantly, finishing a wedding quilt for Sandy's niece after Sandy past away.

We have many activities at our meetings.  Charm Square or Strip exchanges, Fat Quarter Birthday Club, Row by Row, Secret Pal, Christmas in July, Quilted Ornament exchange, along with our monthly programs and speakers.

This year,on April 22, we held our 4th Quilters' Extravaganza Day, a day for and about quilters.

We always welcome new members, whether beginning or advanced in quilting.
